Frozen Mocha with Greens
While I’m loving that it’s fall…I have to face reality. The calendar season does not dictate the weather here. It’s heading back into the 90s this week and I’m wanting a cold drink. A fun one. But I’m trying to be healthy. What’s a girl to do? The struggle is real.
This is the best of both worlds. Believe it or not there are greens in there! I figured if I could make green smoothies that taste like fruit and not the greens, why not add greens to another type of smoothie…one that feels indulgent.
Here’s what I put in it:
2 frozen bananas
1 large handful of mixed greens
1 heaping tablespoon of cocoa powder
1 large cup of room temperature leftover coffee
1/2 ripe avocado
a handful of ice (optional)
If you want perfectly creamy, leave out the ice. If you want a treat that’s a little more like a frozen dessert, put the ice in.
The next step is to enjoy it with no guilt!
