Our Family’s Favorite Hearty Pasta Sauce
How do I get my family to eat onions, bell peppers, mushrooms, tomatoes, and sometimes even carrots in one meal?  With a hearty pasta sauce that is meaty enough to satisfy my husband and tasty enough that my kids think vegetables are delicious.  This is just as good on spaghetti squash as it is traditional spaghetti.  It’s easy, homemade, and full of real food that you can feel good about feeding your family. -It makes a full stock pot of sauce so you’ll have plenty to freeze for another night.

Instructions
  1. In a large stock pot, cook bacon until almost crisp. Crumble in the ground beef and brown.
  2. When the beef is browned all the way and the vegetables are tender, add the remaining ingredients. Stir to combine and bring to a boil.
  3. Reduce heat to a simmer and continue simmering uncovered for 2 hours. Stir occasionally to prevent burning on the bottom.
  4. Serve with your favorite pasta. It’s also delicious with spaghetti squash.
